A former university professor of illustration, Violet created this blog for her students, as an extension of her classroom. When Violet retired from teaching to focus on writing and illustrating books she kept up professorviolet.com, which has evolved along with her career. The blog is now called ILLUSTORIES.

Violet has virtually visited many bookstore events via Skype. This video shows one such event held at WORD Bookstore in Brooklyn, NY in the spring of 2012, which was organized by her publisher duopress.

A mom and long-time professor of art, Violet demonstrates how she draws, leads kids in fun art activities related to her books, answers questions, and generally orchestrates a good time for all participants.
